Leonardo da Vinci would have had mixed feelings about the hoopla
surrounding his notebooks; he spent so much effort making sure no one
could easily read them, and then yesterday it was announced that anyone
can. Anyone, that is, who is prepared to buy Microsoft's new operating
system.
Bill Gates and the British Library revealed they were reuniting Leonardo's Codex Arundel with the Codex Leicester, online at least. High resolution versions of the notebooks will allow users to turn the pages for themselves.
